The Vineyard

Displayed in 35 hectares of suitable land, our vineyards are located in a quite privileged area; in the north of Montevideo (Uruguay´s capital). This region is mainly an agricultural site apart from having a prestigious wine tradition.

Thanks to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean it has important thermal amplitude between the day and the night, with warm days and cool nights, which helps to get intensity and concentration of aromas and flavors.

Our vines are French origin and predominates cultivars are: Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Shiraz and Malbec.

We have chosen for each of the variety the clones, grafts, trellising systems and location of the rows which are best adapted to our "terroir".
We consider of high importance the pre-harvesting tasks, such as stripping of leaves, reduction of weight and bunch selection, as a means of obtaining grapes of maximum quality. The harvest is done manually, at a precise moment signaled by the winemaker and his team. This is done after the chemical and sensorial evaluation of the grapes.
